Matthew Feldman JD
Matthew S. Feldman graduated from the University of Rochester with a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature. Mr. Feldman also graduated from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs with a Master of International Affairs and a certificate from Columbia’s Middle East Institute before attending the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Law, where he obtained his law degree and a certificate of concentration in international law. Prior to entering the practice of law, Mr. Feldman worked in the technology sector specializing in business consulting, software development and support.
Mr. Feldman represents business entities, including health care professionals and institutions, in legal matters including the defense of post-payment audits initiated by private and governmental health plans; corporate formations and governance; contract negotiation and preparation; regulatory compliance matters including HIPAA, Stark Law, and the Anti-kickback Law; providing quality assurance and professional review activities related to federal and state employment law and regulations, advising employers on the drafting and negotiation of non-compete agreements and the preparation of employment policies and handbooks. Mr. Feldman also concentrates his practice in professional liability matters before New York Education Department’s Office of Professional Discipline and the Department of Health’s Office of Professional Medical Conduct, corporate transactions, settlements, personal and corporate tax matters, the renewable energy sector, debtor/creditor issues, international, health, and employment matters. Mr. Feldman defends against employment discrimination suits before the New York State Division of Human Rights (DHR) and the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and has represented employers in private labor arbitrations. Mr. Feldman maintains a foreign language proficiency in both Arabic and Spanish to benefit his domestic and international clients.
Stuart Wasser MD
Dr. Stuart Wasser is a board-certified addiction medicine specialist who has worked in Long Island, NY for 30 years. He runs a practice dedicated to treatment of addiction and impulse control disorders. He has detox and weaning protocols for all drugs; He provides medication assisted treatment (MAT) with Suboxone, Vivitrol and naltrexone. He will stabilize and slowly wean persons who have issues with sedatives including Xanax, Klonopin and Fioricet. He also provides pharmacotherapy for cocaine, methamphetamine, alcohol, marijuana, and nicotine use disorders. Process addictions such as gambling, compulsive sexuality and many eating disorders are also medically treated. Co-occurring medical and psychiatric disorders are identified and treated as well. Michael Brody DPM
Dr Brody has been actively involved in Computers and Medicine since the 1980’s. Early in his career he provided support computerization of private offices and he was sought out as a beta tester for developers of practice management software.
He was offered a position as a Residency Director at a VA hospital on Long Island and was present as the VA moved from paper records to computerized records. He actively participated in the transition and was involved with the IT department of the hospital during the deployment of VISTA and CPRS. During this time, he was exposed to the stringent rules and regulations that government employees need to adhere to when protecting the rights of the veteran patients under his care.
With his knowledge of health information technology and compliance he implemented Electronic Medical Records and HIPAA compliance in his private practice. He co-founded TLD Systems with Warren Melnick to create a platform that doctors who wish to work in private practice have a cost-effective method of implementing HIPAA compliance in their practices in a manner that does not interfere with their ability to practice medicine.
Dr Brody received his initial education as an undergraduate at MIT and He received his DPM from NYCPM in 1987 and completed his residency at DVAMC Northport. He has served on the Health Information Technology Standards Panel (HITSP), the Standards and Interoperability Framework (S&I), as a member of the Ambulatory Care Committee at the Certification Commission on Health Information Technology (CCHIT), and numerous other organizations. He is currently a member of the Physicians Committee at the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) and a co-Chair of the EHR workgroup at Health Level Seven International (HL7)
He has held staff appointments at several Colleges of Podiatry and lectures around the country on compliance for medical doctors and staff.
Allen Jacobs DPM
Dr. Jacobs is a 1973 Summa Cum Laude graduate of the Pennsylvania College of Podiatric Medicine. He completed his residency in surgery at Monsignor Clement Kern Hospital for special surgery in Warren, Michigan in 1975. Dr. Jacobs is in private practice in St. Louis, Missouri. He is board certified in reconstructive surgery of the foot and ankle by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. For 25 years, Dr. Jacobs served as a Director of Podiatric Surgical Residency Training; and has also served as a contributing editor to the Journal of Foot Surgery, Podiatry Today, Foot and Ankle Quarterly and Clinics in Podiatric Medicine and Surgery. Additionally, Dr. Jacobs has served as the Scientific Chairman of the American Podiatric Medical Association, The Missouri Podiatry Society, and on the Journal Management Committee of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgery. He was the first podiatrist to receive the rank of Fellow by Temple University. He was voted a Lifetime Achievement Award and to The Podiatry Hall of Fame. He has received numerous awards from the APMA and ACFAS for his dedication to podiatry and podiatric education, as well as recognition from the governors of Missouri, Arkansas, and Massachusetts. He has published over 80 scientific articles in various publications and 17-chapter contributions in various textbooks and has presented over 1000 papers at podiatric and medical society meetings. In addition to his practice, Dr. Jacobs maintains a free educational website, www.centerforpodiatriceducation.com, with open access to students, residents and practitioners of podiatric medicine and surgery. He is a nationally recognized author, researcher and a noted authority of surgery of the foot.
