Dispensing Compression Garments Yourself: Coding, Compliance, and Documentation
Compression is an essential element of treating many of the pathologies we encounter, including venous leg disease and lymphedema. There are often pitfalls involved with prescribing compression garments and/or relying on patients to purchase them. Fortunately, providers have the option to dispense these compression garments directly to patients or have them delivered directly to patients, thereby eliminating many of the barriers that exist in getting our patients the care they need. Dispensing compression garments directly to patients improves patient satisfaction, improves outcomes, and improves office efficiency.
As is the case with every other service we provide, there are compliance guidelines that accompany the provision of compression garments directly to patients. This session will explain how you can participate in this wonderful program and share the compliance guidelines associated with participation in this program. Coverage explanations will be provided.
