Christopher Girgis, DPM

Dr. Christopher Girgis currently serves as Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery in the Division of Vascular Surgery and Internal Medicine in the Division of Metabolism, Endocrinology, and Diabetes at the University of Michigan Medical School. Dr. Girgis earned his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree from the Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine and completed a three-year PMSR/RRA residency at Loyola University in Maywood, Illinois. He then pursued fellowship training in diabetic limb salvage and wound care at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, developing expertise in the advanced operative and nonoperative management of diabetic foot complications and lower extremity wounds. His clinical and research interests focus on diabetic foot management, limb preservation, wound care and outcomes of diabetic foot interventions. Dr. Girgis is a Fellow of the American College of Podiatric Medicine and an active member of the American Podiatric Medical Association. He is board certified by the American Board of Podiatric Medicine and is a Certified Wound Care Specialist (CWSP).
